1st Assembly of 2026 – Legends are Back

On 14 January 2026, Fourways High School celebrated a day dedicated to welcoming new students, inspiring the current learners, and reflecting on the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2025. Assemblies are more than just a platform to share achievements and events—they set the tone for the school year and aim to inspire young minds.

As tradition, the assembly began with a vibrant and energetic welcome for the Class of 2030. This ritual fosters togetherness among pupils and ensures that the Grade 8s feel fully embraced as part of the Fourways High family. In true school spirit, the student body president, Amisha Jivan and deputy president, Paolo van Schalkwyk, led the reading and prayer, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the school song—performed with pride and honour by everyone wearing the Fourways High badge.

Mr Holliday set the tone for the 2026 academic year with an inspiring address to staff, the matric Class of 2026, and all students. He reflected on the remarkable success of the Class of 2025, which achieved a 98.1% pass rate and a total of 202 distinctions—a high benchmark for the new matric cohort to aspire to.

The assembly also welcomed new staff members to the Fourways family with warm applause: Mr Morgenrood, Ms Barriel, Mr Burrows, Ms Jwara, Ms Boodhoo-Laubscher, Ms Estrice, and Ms Mdluli.

As the assembly drew to a close, the school united to sing the Fourways Call. Linking arms, students and staff sang with pride and passion, embodying the spirit that makes Fourways High School so unique. Here’s to another year of outstanding success, exceptional achievements, and the unmistakable spirit of Fourways High—visible for miles.
