In an inspiring display of community spirit and entrepreneurship, Fourways High School hosted a market day to raise funds for cancer research on the 2nd of August. The event was a huge success, filled with enthusiastic students and supportive staff, all coming together for a noble cause.
The busy market day was set up in the school’s B quad, which was transformed into a marvellous pink marketplace. Stalls lined the area, each led by students and teachers awaiting to sell their homemade goods, crafts, and delicious treats. From handcrafted jewellery and homemade lunches to delicious baked goods, there was something for everyone. The event was high-spirited, with music played in the background, adding to the atmosphere. The air was filled with laughter, talking, and the sound of selling, as items were quickly purchased.
By the end of the break, the school had raised a significant amount of money. The funds would go directly to cancer research organisations, providing much-needed support for efforts to find a cure.
The market day was more than just a fundraising event; it was a way to show kindness and love in community and the impact all of us can make. It showed us the incredible potential of young people when they unite for a cause and demonstrated the profound effect of community involvement. This unforgettable day left everyone with a renewed sense of hope and determination, proving that together, we can make a difference.
