Young people usually find it difficult and nerve-wrecking to share a speech for marks Infront of our friends and schoolmates inside a classroom. So, imagine having to share and validate your opinion Infront of an unfamiliar crowd, ready to listen and criticise every word you utter! Thats what public speaking is all about.
In term 2, the Grade 10 public speaking group participated in the CAF Creative Arts Festival towards the end of term 2 with Mrs. Venisha Subramoney as their coach. The participants for Team A included: Amisha Jivan, Priyam Naidu, Itumeleng Sathekge and Ava Hartzenburg and Team B: Dakota Jackson, Suraj Sukhu, Kenewang Mologadi and Khanyisa Ngobeni, were all challenged to prepare and deliver a speech on the topic of their own choice.
Both Grade 10 teams achieved a gold with Amashia Jivan achieving the highest with a prestige for her individual speech, Dakota Jackson achieving gold for her own and Suraj Sukhu achieving gold for his individual speech.
Such experiences are always nerve-wrecking therefore a big round of applause is dedicated to the incredible team and their outstanding performance as well as for their great guidance.
