Fourways High Crowns Tennis Champions

On 24 March, Fourways High School in Johannesburg held an internal tennis competition filled with excitement and school spirit. The day saw the school’s first and second tennis teams go head-to-head in a series of entertaining matches. Support from the cricket first team and other Fourways learners added to the lively atmosphere, creating a wonderful sense of unity and encouragement.

Panarottis Fourways elevated the event by providing delicious pizza and drinks, which kept the spectators satisfied and made the day even more enjoyable.

Outstanding Player of the Day:

Zama Ngwenya stood out as the star of the day, winning all three of her matches. Speaking about her performance, Zama said, “On the day, I thought I performed really well. There were some tough matches, especially my match with Disha, but overall, I was happy with how I played.”

When asked if she expected to win, Zama responded confidently: “As much as I knew the matches would be tough, I was actually expecting to win all three, which I did. I’m extremely proud of myself for not giving up when it got challenging.”

Looking ahead to her future in tennis, Zama shared: “I do see myself playing tennis professionally one day in big competitions like Wimbledon. But to get there, I know I need to work even harder because it’s something I really want to achieve.”

We are incredibly proud of all the tennis players who took part in this competition. The talent, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm displayed on the day were a true reflection of the spirit of Fourways High.
