It goes without saying that a house built on sinking sand always comes crashing down. Service is the firm foundation that keeps the four walls of this school upright and functioning like a well-oiled machine. From the First Aiders, Sound and Lighting Team, Photo-journalism team, Councillors, and staff members (some notorious for their role as bathroom gatekeepers), it is only befitting to make it a tradition to give our unsung heroes their flowers for being such faithful servants.
Their good deeds did not go unnoticed at the Intertribe Gala 2024, as Mr Lucioli commended the First Aiders for their hard work saying, “Shout out to Ms Montano for saving someone’s life! Also, I am very impressed with First Aiders.’’
It is satisfying to see the learners that care about the well-being of athletes get some of the recognition they deserve.
‘’I have doing First Aid for three years now, we aren’t in the limelight like the athletes, but it’s so fulfilling to participate in something bigger than myself,” says devout First Aider, Angela Khumalo. “Also, I am super glad that there were no hectic injuries at this year’s swimming gala”.
It would be criminal to not give props to the Sound and Lighting team and Councillors that devoted their time and poured out their hearts and souls into keeping fellow students riled up and entertained with the phenomenal soundtrack and dance moves. They were indeed the fuel needed to ignite the spirit hidden in learners and spectators.
Simple words cannot express the infinite gratitude Fourways Legends have towards the learners committed to servitude and running things behind the scenes, which kept the swimming gala afloat and made it an event engraved in the hearts of Legends.
