Mr. J De Wit’s Commitment to the Daily Bread Association

One of our Business teachers – Mr. De Wit who has been part of the charity since 2009 along with his husband – was awarded public recognition during one of the schools’ assemblies for being a committed citizen to The Daily Bread Organization.
The Daily Bread Organization is a charity that was established in 2008 that helps children in need of food, clothing, and shelter. The organization is based in Fourways by the Leaping Frog Centre.
They render services such as Counselling, Feeding programs, Skills Development, Outreach and education as well as Drop-in Centre for people in need.
Neo Kele conducted an interview with Mr. De Wit on his experience with the organization and these were the responses:
How did you start working with The Daily Bread?
“When my husband and I moved to Joburg North, we would host an annual party, invite our friends and send them a list of items that they would need to bring for people in need and from there on we would donate the items to the Daily Bread Organization.”
What would you say is your favorite part of working with The Daily Bread?
My favourite part is how good I feel when I can share my excess that I do not need with people who do need it.”
What are 3 business functions you think the Daily bread could perfect?
“I don’t have enough information on how they run the organization on how they can improve, but I do think that they are doing an absolutely fantastic job!”
Mr. De Wit added on and said this: “If you want to feel good about yourself, start sharing your excess with people in need. It gives you are warm feeling around your heart that you are doing something good, and the best part of it all? Is that the government cannot take anything from it!”
