Reds and Blues Triumph Across The Board

Fourways High School hosted Hoërskool President High School on March 15, 2025, and it’s safe to say Fourways High School enjoyed considerable success that day. The day was filled with numerous activities. The first-team girls’ hockey, first-team girls’ netball, and first-team rugby all secured victories on our first derby day of the year. This derby day also marked the debut of our new Spirit Master, Resegofaditswe Boikanyo.

The 1st team girls’ hockey team delivered an impressive performance, winning their game with goals from Kelly Plunkett, Melissa Ferguson, and Emily Milne. Kelly Plunkett captained the team for the first time and contributed the most goals. The 2nd team girls’ hockey also achieved an outstanding victory with a 6-0 score, with goals from Kganya Khoeli, Gabrielle Hermanson, and Kefilwe Makitla.

The first-team netball team also played well and won their match. It was a very close game with significant pressure on both teams, but Fourways emerged victorious. This game also saw the Spirit Master lead a special support effort with a crowd of Fourways High School students and parents joining in to encourage the girls to fight until the end and secure the win. This strong spirit displayed by Fourways High School was crucial in motivating the girls to persevere and win this important game.

The final game of the day featured the boys’ first-team rugby. Before the match began, the spirit team led a large crowd in support of the boys. The game was also closely contested, with Fourways winning in the final moments.

What a successful derby day! On to the next one, Reds and Blues!
