How did you gain confidence before going on stage?
“I would remember my relatives, my siblings and my supporters that were in the audience. I would feel their love. By remembering them, it would make me happy and therefore more confident.”
Did you winning MISS PHOTOGENIC change your perceptive of how you thought people viewed you?
“No, I don’t feel like it changed, as I always know that if I spread positive energy then I will in turn receive positive energy.”
Lastly , any special message to those who love and support you.
“Thank you so much for voting for me. I wouldn’t have been here and achieved this without you. I love you all and I hope that everyone also tries next year for the show as it is a blast, and you will enjoy it.”
An additional interview was conducted with Tshegofatso Kokong, who was also one of the contestants of the show. He had a similar successful evening, winning MR PERONALITY and MR FOURWAYS SENIOR. The interview was conducted as follows:
What was initial intention when entering MR AND MISS FOURWAYS?
“To win. I am very competitive. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone as well as I’ve been at the school for two and a half years and have only done athletics, which I have thrived in, but I wanted to step into something else and be good at that in that as well.”
Did you feel intimidated by the other contestants?
“No, as I am very comfortable with myself. I know who I am. I know what I am capable of. Like I said, I entered with the intention to win so it really wasn’t a question of ‘if’ or ‘what if’ rather a question of ‘where’. So, there was no need for me to feel intimidated.”
3.How did you gain confidence before going on stage?
“It just comes naturally to me. I have always struggled with stage fright but practice just makes that fear go away because then you know what you are doing.”
4. As someone whose very well known around the school, did this make you think that you had an advantage over other contestants?
“No, not at all. I wasn’t expecting to win Mr. Personality and Mr. Photogenic, as evidenced by the fact that I didn’t win Mr. Photogenic, this is as there students more popular than me. In my eyes, am just another student.”
The show has given students a platform and a chance to implement positive changes. Therefore, if you want to move out of your comfort zone or challenge certain standards or expectations of the world, come and join next year. The year 2024 could be your year of change by becoming the next MR or MISS FOURWAYS.
