On 30 July, Fourways High School’s 1st team soccer boys faced Northriding Secondary School. It was an amazing day for Fourways, as the boys were clearly well prepared for the challenge ahead.
After losing their first game 5–0 to Ferndale High School, the team knew that this was more than just a second test. The match gave them an opportunity to redeem themselves and prove what they were capable of.
The boys did exactly that, dominating the game and securing a convincing 4–0 victory. The goals were scored by Troy Thabethe and Siboniso Sikhakhane.
One of the 1st team players, Munashe Dirwayi (Grade 11), couldn’t help but express his joy and satisfaction, praising the team’s structure and chemistry.
After the disappointment of their opening defeat, this victory has left the boys optimistic about the season ahead. The rest of the school will no doubt be backing them every step of the way.
