On 13 February, our school was filled with excitement as we celebrated Valentine’s Day Market Day. From the moment learners arrived, the atmosphere felt different—in the best way possible. Everyone was dressed in civvies, wearing the colours of the day, which created a vibrant and unified look across the school. The red, pink, and white outfits added to the festive spirit and made the event feel even more special.
Although the weather was gloomy, it did not dampen the celebration. In fact, the decision to move the market indoors to the pavilion proved to be a blessing in disguise. The indoor setting created a lively and energetic atmosphere, with music, conversation, and laughter filling the air. Being in closer proximity strengthened the sense of community and added to the excitement of the day.
There was a wide variety of stalls, each offering something unique and creative. From delicious pizza slices to beautifully handmade jewellery—such as bracelets, charms, and necklaces—there was something for everyone. Plush toys were especially popular, with many learners purchasing them as gifts for friends and loved ones. The range of products on display highlighted the creativity and innovation of our students.
The market day was not only about celebrating Valentine’s Day; it was also a true showcase of entrepreneurship. The stalls were run by hardworking and determined students who demonstrated impressive business skills. From marketing their products to managing sales and interacting confidently with customers, these young entrepreneurs conducted themselves with professionalism. It was inspiring to see so many business-minded individuals taking initiative and turning their ideas into reality.
A special thank you goes to Ms Brown and Mrs Maritz, who organised the event alongside the Entrepreneurs Club. Their dedication and careful planning ensured that everything ran smoothly and successfully. Their support provided students with the opportunity to showcase their creativity while developing valuable real-world skills.
Overall, Valentine’s Day Market Day was a tremendous success. Despite the gloomy weather, the atmosphere inside the pavilion remained bright and joyful. The event brought learners together, supported student businesses, and created a memorable celebration filled with colour, creativity, and community spirit. It was truly a day to remember.
